’70s
**Lloyd Lunceford (A/S ’77) has been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America 2018, one of the most highly regarded referral publications in the legal profession. Lunceford is a partner at the law firm Taylor Porter, and specializes in higher education, mass communications, commercial litigation, and church property laws. Founded in 1912 in Baton Rouge, La., Taylor Porter represents a diverse range of local, regional, and national clients in complex transactions and litigation across a variety of industries. Lunceford is the co-author of “Libel and Privacy Law and Practice in Louisiana” and is the general editor of A Guide to Church Property Law: Theological, Constitutional and Practical Considerations. He has authored articles on such topics as professional ethics, church/state relations, and document confidentiality, which have appeared in the Louisiana Bar Journal, the Baton Rouge Bar Journal, and other publications.
Dr. Philip D. Sloane (MED ’75) was appointed one of two editors-in-chief of JAMDA, the Journal of Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine. Sloane is the Elizabeth and Oscar Goodwin Distinguished Professor of Family Medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Dr. Randy L. Reese (MED ’77) is a family, geriatric, and emergency physician who was welcomed to the International Association of HealthCare Professionals following his publication in The Leading Physicians of the World. Reese has been in practice for more than 37 years and is currently serving patients in his private practice, Reese Family Practice in Eugene, Ore.

Denise M. Hasbrook (A/S ’81, Law ’84) has been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America 2018, one of the most highly regarded referral publications in the legal profession. Hasbrook is the partner-in-charge at Roetzel & Andress LPA in Toledo.
Paul Spinazze (Eng ’88) was welcomed to the SSOE Group as division manager and senior associate for the company’s Asia-Pacific operations. SSOE is a global project delivery firm for architecture, engineering, and construction management. In this role, Spinazze is responsible for directly supporting SSOE’s China and India operations from the corporate headquarters in Toledo.
Sandy Annesser (UTCTC ’84, UTCTC ’84, Univ Coll ’97) was named assistant vice president, central billing office at HCR ManorCare, located in Toledo. Annesser joined the company in 2008 as director, central billing office. In this new role, she will have continued responsibility for directing all activities related to billing and collection of account receivables for HCR ManorCare’s skilled nursing centers nationwide.

Ryan O’Cull (Ed ’96) is the new director of technology of Medina City School District in Ohio. O’Cull previously taught seventh and eighth grade math in Black River.
Srikanth Dasari (MEng ’95) was named vice president and treasurer for The Andersons, Inc. in Maumee, Ohio. Dasari will be responsible for the strategic direction and day-to-day management of key financial functions, including treasury, tax, investor relations, and financial risk.

Dr. Tanvir Singh (RES ’06) has been appointed chairman of the Department of Psychiatry at UT Medical Center.
*Thomas Cafferty (Law ’06) was honored with the John and Ginny Elam Pro Bono Award at the 2017 Ohio State Bar Association’s All-Ohio Legal Forum. Cafferty is a solo practitioner who specializes in bankruptcy, consumer protection and maritime law. He devotes a significant portion of his legal practice to pro bono activities through the Toledo Bar Association and Operation Legal Help, an organization that serves veterans in need of an attorney.

Monica Leppelmeier (MBA ‘10) is a recipient of a 2017 20 Under 40 Leadership Recognition Award in Toledo. She was selected from a field of 120 candidates. The 20 Under 40 program focuses on individuals under the age of 40 who have distinguished themselves in their careers and/or the community. Leppelmeier is the vice president of operations for ProMedica.
Dr. Manoj Lamichhane (MS ’14, PhD ’16) was welcomed to the faculty of The University of Wisconsin-Waukesha as assistant professor of mathematics.
Births and Marriages
Nicole Staccone (Ed ‘12) and Gary Gorton announced their engagement. Nicole is a revenue service analyst at the UT Medical Center, and Gary is an orchestra director at Washington Local Schools in Toledo and assistance director of the Toledo International Youth Orchestra.
Katie Drake (LLSS ’13) and Joshua Murchison were married on October 21. Katie is employed by Monroe County Intermediate School District, and Joshua is employed by Fifth Third Bank.
*Victoria LaRoy (Ed ’16, Honors ’16) and Michael Simonelli were joined in marriage on June 23 at the Four Star Greenhouse in Carleton, Mich. Victoria is a third-and fourth-grade teacher at Holy Ghost Lutheran School in Monroe, Mich., and Michael is a computer network engineer for Bedford Public Schools.
Nicole Salenbien (NRS ’14) and Brian White are to be wed on May 5, 2018. Nicole is a registered nurse at the UT Medical Center, and Brian is employed by Country Craft in Dundee, Mich.

Thomas J. Fairhurst, Toledo, 89. He was a member of the UT Foundation Board of Trustees from 1990 to 1991. Fairhurst worked at Dana Corp. for 33 years and retired in 1990 as a senior vice president.
Dr. Sherman A. Timmins, Maumee, 79. He was a former professor of management and director of the Small Business Institute. He joined the faculty in 1976 and served on many College of Business committees until his retirement in 1999. Timmins received the University’s Outstanding Teacher Award in 1981.
Betty J. Gentry, Toledo, 85. She worked in the UT Personnel Office for 22 years until her retirement in 1992.
Dr. Kenneth B. Krakoff, Toledo, 92. He was a clinical associate in dentistry from 1974 to 1978. In 1977, he helped organize and directed a Division of Dentistry in the Department of Surgery at the Medical College of Ohio. Krakoff was a supporter of the Global Medical Mission Hall of Fame.
Sharon R. “Rosebud” Matuszewski, Toledo, 57. She was a student loan specialist in the Treasurer’s Office from 2002 to 2007.
Dr. Karleen Middleton Quin Murphy (PhD ’79), Toledo, 81. She joined the English Department as a lecturer in 1960 and taught classes for nearly three decades.
Olivia Alnutt Murphy, Toledo, 96. She was a charter member of the Satellites Auxiliary when the volunteer organization was established in 1975.
Mildred “Carol” (Gaynier) Puhl, Maumee, 72. She was a former UT employee in the College of Education.
Christine N. Brown (NRS ’96), Toledo, 67. She was a nurse at MCO/MUO from 1974 to 2001.
Norman J. Frankowski (MA ’88, A/S ’94), Toledo, 95. He taught at the former University of Toledo Community and Technical College.
