’60’s

Nancy Beach Forderer (Ed ’62, MEd ’89) recently had her book published by The Critical Thinking Company. Her book, “Vocabulary Virtuoso: Mastering Middle School Vocabulary,” was illustrated by one of her students.

John Richard (Dick) Wilson (Ed ’61, MEd ’66, Ed Spec ’74) was inducted posthumously to the National Wrestling Hall of Fame & Museum, located in Stillwater, Okla. Wilson was a three-time NCAA Championship runner-up and a three-time All-American for UT from 1959-61. He was the head wrestling coach at UT in 1967, and coached the Rockets from 1967-1974. His 1969 team won the MAC championship; three other teams were runners-up, and another finished third. Dick Wilson Full Body

**Bob Grant (A/S ’68) is currently serving his third term as President of the Board of Directors for Community Head Start Program of Morris County, N.J., a volunteer position. Head Start is celebrating its 50th anniversary as the premiere pre-school program for children from families with incomes below the federal poverty line.

**Nancy Lapp (Ed ’74, MEd ’77) was recently elected as a Trustee on the Toledo-Lucas County Public Library, Library Legacy Foundation Board of Directors.

’80’s
Gulas John Gulas (Law ’83) was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Los Alamos National Bank (LANB) and President/CEO of Trinity Capital Corporation (TCC). He was also appointed as a member of the Board of Directors of LANB and TCC. Gulas is also listed on the annual list of top CEOs by Albuquerque Business First.

Christopher Kelly (A/S ’81) was named planned giving product specialist at PNC Institutional Asset Management Group in Ann Arbor, Mich. Kelly is a member of the Partnership for Philanthropic Planning, the Michigan Council of Foundations, and sits on the Boards of the Northville Community Foundation and the Planned Giving Roundtable of Southeast Michigan.

Dr. Jan Kneeland (MED ’96) has joined the new family medicine practice in the Medical Office Building at Pelham Medical Center, located in Greer, S.C. kneeland

Dr. Quehuong Pham (A/S ’90, A/S ’91, MED ’95) has joined KentuckyOne Health Surgical Associates at Saint Joseph in London, Kentucky as a general surgeon.

Miller J. Douglas Miller (Eng ’90, Law ’99) a founding member of the intellectual property law firm of Fraser Clemens Martin & Miller, LLC, was appointed by the Wood County Commissioners to the Board of Trustees for the Northwestern Water & Sewer District. Miller is currently vice president of the Wood County Economic Development Commission, president of the Bulldog Foundation, Chair of the International Service Committee of the Rotary Club of Toledo, a member of the Board of Directors for Imagination Station, and a member of the Advisory Committee for LaunchPad Incubation at The University of Toledo.

Ben Tombaugh (Bus ’92) was inducted to the Sylvania Schools athletic hall of fame. Tombaugh graduated from Sylvania Northview High School, located in Sylvania, Ohio. He earned a total of seven varsity letters and was named the Great Lakes League co-offensive player of the year twice. He still holds the record for the longest run from scrimmage in University of Toledo history at 95 yards.

Jennifer Grieco Jennifer Grieco (A/S ’93, Law ’97), a partner at Neuman Anderson, P.C., a Michigan based business law firm specializing in complex commercial litigation, was sworn in as secretary for the State Bar of Michigan for the 2015-2016 year. She concentrates her practice in the areas of complex commercial litigation, professional malpractice and coverage disputes.

Jaclyn Dight (A/S ’03, HSHS ’05) was inducted to the Ohio Northern University (ONU) Athletic Hall of Fame. To be inducted, one must have made contributions to the field of athletics through their athletic performance at the university or meritorious efforts made on behalf of athletics. munsch Jason Munsch (Ed ’03, MS ’06) was named the head coach of the Florida Tech track and field team, located in Tampa, Fla.

Candi Wolbert (Bus ’02) has been appointed to serve as the Eastern Region Chair of the Safety and Security Council of the National Tank Truck Carriers Association. The eastern region encompasses 12 eastern U.S. states from the east coast to Ohio.

Births and Marriages

Sarah (Heydinger) Blakeley (A/S ’04) and Matt Blakeley (Eng ’05) welcomed a baby girl, Ellena, to their family in September 2014. She joins big sisters Charlotte and Stella.

Rebecca Catherine Swierz (Pharm ’11, PharmD ’13) and Steven Joseph Margevicius (Pharm ’11, PharmD ’13) exchanged vows on August 22, 2014 at St. James Catholic Church in Lakewood, Ohio. Rebecca is a pharmacy clinical specialist at Southwest General in Middleburg Heights, Ohio and Matt is a pharmacist and anticoagulation supervisor at Veterans Affairs in Cleveland, Ohio. Erin Shaffer (Pharm ’14) and Aaron Copi (Eng ’14) were joined in marriage on September 5, 2014 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, their reception was held at LaRoy’s Hall in LaSalle, Mich. Shaffer is employed by Rite Aid Pharmacy and Aaron is employed by Matrix Technologies in Maumee, Ohio.

Lopez Aaron Lopez (MEd ’08) and Shaun Murphy were married in Hillsboro, Wis. on September 26, 2015. Aaron currently works at the Chamber Main Street and the Driftless Café in Viroqua, Wis., and Shaun currently works on the couple’s organic farm and as a transportation planner for Toole Design Group, based out of Minneapolis.
Craig Matthew Dapore (Eng ’11) and Amanda Lynn Subler exchanged vows on November 21, 2015 in St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Fort Loramie, Ohio. Edward C. Dixon, age 77, a stationary engineer at MCO from 1980 to 1999.

Ruby I. Murray, age 78, a volunteer with the Satellites Auxiliary.

Rolland D. “Rollie” Jakubowski, age 82, an internal auditor at MCO who retired in 1995.

Santiago “Jim” Flores, age 89, a custodian at MCO from 1978 until his retirement in 1991.

Dr. George P. Guthrie, age 86, joined the UT faculty in 1961 and served as chair of the Philosophy Department from 1975 to 1982. Guthrie was granted emeritus status when he retired in 1988.

Jennifer Rockwood (A/S ’78), age 64, worked at UT for nearly three decades. In 1985, she joined the faculty of the Department of Theatre and Film. She was named director of UT’s First-Year Experience Program in 2003. After 10 years in that role, she returned to teaching as a senior lecturer and retired in 2014. She directed numerous productions for the University stage. Rockwood also directed shows for the Toledo Repertoire Theatre and the Village Players Theatre. In 2013, she received the University’s Edith Rathbun Award for Outreach and Engagement for her contribution to theatre and the arts in northwest Ohio.

Debra D. Hecklinger, at 65, was a former senior accountant at MCO for 18 years until her retirement in 1999.
